Phoenix pre-school

Abi was apprehensive about visiting on orientation play morning. She didn't want to go, esp cos she doesn't know any of the children.

However upon entering the premises, the playground immediately caught her attention and she wanted to try out a lot of the activities/equipment. Not sure who was more excited: Abi, Pascale or Chris! The sisters ended up in the sandpit as usual, with the water pump that emptied into a sandstone cascade feature the most popular. The hem of Abi's dress was soaked and the rest caked in wet sand. Just managed to walk inside for a quick look at the toilets and insect light table before the end of orientation play Day 1.

Day 2 and we tried to move Abi inside for a while. She did 2 quick paintings, lay in the play cot (Stokke) and checked out the reading platforms/bookcases. Great stuff! Met Zahra Kutty who was with her in the Do-Re-Mi music class but she will be on the 3 day program next year instead of our 2 days. Her mum Kate is on the parent committee so will see them again for sure.

Abi was happy about Phoenix and the idea of coming next year wasn't really pushed hard. Now parents just have to negotiate the forest of forms relating to kid with asthma and anaphylaxis risk.
