During today's trek around the Bay Run, Abi happily walked for about 200m on 2 occasions. Mainly we looked at the scenery. Saw a jetty, rocks and rockpools, sand, mangrove saplings through the mudflats, brown mouse among the leaf litter at low tide, people moving dinghy across the road, construction of houses, dogs, soccer players, sculling race with marshalling area and sculls. We were the last (by a long time) to complete the course but we enjoyed seeing it through the kid's eyes.
After lunch Abi wanted to join in the girls' team for an ultimate frisbee game that the CASS students organised, but there was only one girl and the rest were honorary girls, and the field was about 200m away from the picnic spot so we were tired by the time we reached it.
Both before and after the walkathon Abi went to the playground at King George Park. First time she was apprehensive about the swings, as usual. Second time she tentatively pushed herself with her feet and actually moved, and then kept swinging until time to go home. As usual she went down the wiggly blue slide on her stomach and back as well in as the normal manner. It was the sea, she told one of the mothers there.
On the walk home, as her mother and grandmother struggled up the hill with the strollers, Abi said "Mum, I'm going to have a short nap while you push the stroller." then promptly did.
