Swimming

Abi went to Ryde Pool with mum, Owen, Kau Fu and Pascale. Por Por came to watch and assist. After putting on her costume (no rash top cos this wasn't a lesson) she almost leapt into the water minus her back float bubble.

Once the bubble and noodle were in place Abi quickly jumped in and dog paddled ("ran") around the play pool. She went around the whirlpool a couple of times then into the baby pool to follow Pascale. Seeing as her lips were a bit purple Kau Fu took Abi to the hydrotherapy pool which was bath temperature. She played very happily, swimming around and chasing mum. We returned to the play pool and saw it was time for the wave action. Abi wanted to jump into the deep end with Kau Fu and Owen but settled for the shallows with Priscilla. Somehow we made it to the deep end anyway to be with the boys. Abi squealed with delight as she bobbed with the waves. After the end of the wave session, the boys had flicked their hair to make shark fin spikes. Abi wanted to do it too, so she bravely took a breath and dipped her face into the water and came back up with fringe plastered to her face. With a huge grin she said that she had duck hair too!

As her eyes hurt from the chlorine, it was time to try her goggles. They were a bit loose and maybe the wrong shape but she loved wearing them.

Abi only agreed to leave the water with the promise of a hot chocolate. She was shivering and enjoyed the warm shower. She got dressed quickly and leaned against the tuck shop counter with Owen and Kau Fu as they ordered their food. She had eaten a muesli bar already and enjoyed having a chocolate moustache and beard as we left the swim pool. After 10 minutes in the car Abi was asleep.

Afterwards, at home, she wanted to draw the goggles.
