Under the fig tree with Pascale, Abi also explored the stormwater grated lid. The children noticed leaves and broken twigs of various diameter among the grass and Abi decided to collect some. She carefully picked the leaves, even ones on a fallen branch that had to be ripped off. A small pile was made on the edge of the stormwater grate then some bark chip was added "to light the fire".
Abi also collected broken twigs about 25mm in diameter, some quite gnarled and twisted, some straight. She balanced them in the gaps between gratings.
